I don’t think there is anything wrong with me: can I still go to therapy?List Item 1
Yes! Therapy is not for “what is wrong with you” but rather to explore things in your life you may have concerns about or want to change. I like to think that therapy is about making meaning out of life's circumstances.
-
Once I start therapy, how long will it last?List Item 2
That depends on each unique person. For some, psychotherapy fosters a lifelong journey of introspection. For others, it might be several sessions to learn how to cope with a life change or stressful situation.
Some people go to therapy once a week, some people go more than once a week, and some people go less. Each person's needs are addressed individually.

I am thinking about having my child see a therapist. Are you allowed to tell me what happens in session?List Item 3
Just like in adult psychotherapy, what happens in therapy stays in therapy. With that said, if I have grave concerns about something that comes up, and I feel your child is in an unsafe situation, I will address my concern with you and only vital information will be shared. If you have a child receiving my services, all updates are handled in a family setting that fosters healthy communication between family members and prevents the feeling of being talked about behind one's back.

What are the benefits of group therapy?List Item 4
Group therapy allows a participant to receive feedback from more than one person. This can allow someone to challenge misconceptions on many fronts. It also allows for peer feedback in addition to feedback from a leader.

What is the difference between psychotherapy and psychoanalysis?
Psychoanalysis is a method of psychotherapy that is nuanced and in-depth. It is multidimensional in that we explore past, present, unconscious and conscious experiences. In psychoanalysis, the work tends to be deeper with more frequent sessions.

What insurance do you accept?
At this time, I don't take any insurance directly. By not taking insurance, I am able to devote more time and attention to each person I see for treatment.
If your insurance carrier has out-of-network coverage, you may be eligible for reimbursement, and if so, I can provide the necessary superbill on a monthly basis. If you are seeking reimbursement for services, contact your insurance carrier directly to see what your benefits are, and what the process entails. Each insurance company works differently and has a different process.
